Mission Statement:
To celebrate heritage, support local entrepreneurs, and promote inclusive, community-driven revitalization.
Our Values:
The Mexicantown-Hubbard Communities Main Street Program is a collaboration of businesses, residents, and community stakeholders. It is the implementation of a comprehensive commercial district economic plan to strengthen, market, and promote the business district. Mexicantown welcomes everyone to respectfully enjoy its vibrant, colorful, and distinctive Main Street and traditional events, its architecture and aesthetic reflective of its proud Latin American roots.
The Mexicantown Main Street corridor encompasses a 1.7-mile stretch of businesses and local organizations on Vernor Hwy. and Bagley St. Within these corridors, there are more than 150 first-floor storefronts, restaurants, shops, organizations, and other retail and service-based businesses.
The program follows the State’s and National Main Street model, which is based on a four-point approach: organization, promotion, design, and economic vitality. Each focus area has a committee of community stakeholders that volunteer their time and resources to the goals and objectives of each committee.
Mexicantown’s Goals include:
